The Ginger Man, July Showcasse
I will be setting up my table again at The Ginger Man on Saturday, July 25th. Last time, I learned that set-up was simple, the fee was perfect, and the people who run this event are incredibly nice. It’s great that they want to showcase local artists and hand-makers, and I’ll participate in that attitude every time. I didn’t make so much in sales during the June event, but every experience is practice, exposure, and getting to be rather fun. Since the last show, I have done three others and feel like I know even more now about this whole selling my work in a face-to-face environment. I’m less nervous and retreating, which is my natural way, and gaining assertiveness without being too much of a pusher. That’s my hope anyway.
I let the organizers know that the location of the tables was not ideal since the customers seemed to stay in the main area of the bar and didn’t know we were there. They are moving us to the front this time, so there’s some assertiveness in action! Hopefully, I’ll get a few more sales, a bit more practice, and some good contacts.

Showcase at The Ginger Man
Hey Merritt!
Thanks for the “favorite” on your blog! This Ginger Man event looks awesome! Beer and handmade goods..what could be better than that? Good Luck!
Austin has got it goin’ on in regard to fun craft/art/talent expos. While I have been enjoying reading your blog, I also find myself a bit more than jealous that you live in such a fun place with lots of like-minded folks. More power to you!
