Merritt Gade studied metalsmithing and fibers at the University of Oregon, graduating in 1999. That same year, she moved to Austin, Texas, where she has worked in a freelance capacity producing jewelry, bridal headpieces, lampshades, wall sconces, scarves, stained glass, and upholstered furniture. She is constantly learning techniques and skills to expand her portfolio, but has focused her business on her first love, metals.  Much of her work includes natural materials like gemstones, coral, pearls, but also plays with color using Swarovski crystals, art wire, and quality glass and plastic.  Merritt’s favorite work is custom, one-of-a-kind pieces made for a special purpose.
